Flexible Legal Funding with JustFund
At Armfield O’Brien Law, we know that legal matters can arrive at inconvenient times, and the cost of legal representation can sometimes feel like an added burden on top of an already stressful situation. That’s why we’re pleased to be an accredited partner of JustFund, a legal funding service that helps eligible clients manage their legal fees without the upfront financial pressure.
Whether you’re navigating a family law dispute, a property matter, or another legal issue, JustFund may allow you to access the legal representation you need now, with payment structured in a way that works for your circumstances.
What is JustFund?
JustFund is a third-party legal funding provider. Rather than requiring clients to pay legal fees as they’re incurred, JustFund can pay invoices directly to our firm as your matter progresses, securing the funding against your property by way of a registered mortgage. This means you can focus on resolving your legal matter, while repayment is arranged separately through JustFund according to their terms.
It’s important to understand that JustFund is a separate, independent provider. Armfield O’Brien Law is not a credit provider and does not provide financial or credit advice. Any funding arrangement is between you and JustFund, and is subject to their own assessment, eligibility criteria, and approval process.
How It Works?
- Discuss your options with us. If cost is a concern for your matter, let us know. We can talk you through whether a JustFund arrangement may be appropriate for your situation.
- Application. You can apply directly with JustFund, or, with your authority, our office can assist by submitting an application on your behalf.
- Assessment and approval. JustFund will assess your application against their own eligibility criteria. This typically involves confirming property ownership and completing standard verification steps. Approval is entirely at JustFund’s discretion.
- Funding and mortgage registration. If approved, JustFund registers a mortgage over the nominated property to secure the funding arrangement.
- Invoices paid as your matter progresses. Once the arrangement is in place, JustFund pays our invoices directly as work is completed, so you’re not required to find funds upfront.
Who Might This Suit?
A JustFund arrangement may be worth considering if you:
- Own property and are able to offer it as security;
- Are facing a legal matter that requires ongoing legal costs over time (such as family law proceedings, property settlements, or estate matters);
- Would prefer to defer payment of legal fees until a later point, rather than paying as costs are incurred; and
- Want to proceed with your matter without delay while funding arrangements are finalised.
Eligibility, terms, and approval are determined solely by JustFund, and every client’s circumstances are different. We recommend speaking with our office so we can help you understand whether this option is likely to suit your matter before you apply.
